SLC's 2011 Bikeways map

From Becka Roolf, Salt Lake City's Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator,

At long last the Salt Lake City Bikeways Map is at the printers, and will be available for print distribution next week.

Here's the scoop:

* You can already get a sneak preview of the map online in .pdf format, on the City's website.
* Those who attend the Mayors' Bike to Work Day event on Tuesday, May 17, can get an advance copy of the printed version of the map.  The maps will also be available at this time for members of the media.  Meet at Liberty Park (700 E 900 S, northeast corner) at 7:30 am and pedal to the Salt Lake County Government Center (2100 S State St) then continuing to the City & County Building (451 S State St).
* The official release of the Bike Map will be on Friday, May 20 at the UTA Bike Bonanza, 4-8 pm at the Gallivan Plaza.  Come get your copy from the SLC Transportation Division booth, and take a chance to meet some of the Transportation Division staff that has brought you green shared lanes, more bikeways than ever, and the Bikeways map.
* Bike maps will also be available in local bike shops starting on Friday, May 20.

There are two versions of the map available -- a free, paper version and a $4 version on nice waterproof paper from retail locations (only).  Both wlll be available while supplies last.
