New do-it-yourself bike repair stations installed at the U

Last year, the first four Dero Fix-It stations were installed at various locations throughout the University of Utah campus, courtesy of Commuter Service and Campus Planning, with funding from the SCIF (Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund) which awards more than $30,000 in support of sustainable projects on campus. The original four stations are located at the University of Utah Bicycle Collective, the Student Union, Field House, and behind the Heritage Center.

Last week, two more stands (different models) were installed.

  • Near the Warnock and Merrill Engineering Buildings
  • In the Health Sciences Plaza

Photos of the new stands:

This new maintenance stand is located between the Warnock (WEB) and Merrill (MEB)
Engineering Buildings, in the NW corner of campus, near 100 South & North Campus Drive.

This stand, obviously a different model than those previously installed, is in the Health
Sciences Plaza near the Medical Campus.

Heidi Goedhart, who works on bicycle facilities with the University of Utah, let us know:

"We have our own 'bicycle amenities' map for the University (map is also below). It provides contact information for all bicycle lockers, storage areas, fix-it stations and locates the University Bicycle Collective! We are in the process of updating all the photos of the racks and doing an inventory!"
