Just a few weeks ago, the Jordan River Commission, the regional organization that works across municipal and county boundaries in order to ensure a safe, connective, and clean environment surrounding the Jordan River, announced that it will be publishing the first ever printed pocket trails map for the Jordan River Parkway Trail. Developed through grants from the National Park Service's Rivers and Trails Conservation Assistance Program, the map will be helpful to all users who use the trail and who often find themselves in a different jurisdiction than where they started. The map will provide up to date information about gaps in the trail, interesting facts, routes and connections to public transit, as well as place to fish, restoration areas, dog parks, and wildlife viewing areas, among other things.
The map is currently in draft, and being reviewed and tweaked by representatives from Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, the Jordan River Commission, trail users themselves, and others. Watch for an announcement of the map's availability in early August and plan to pick up your free copy and go walking or biking on one of the West's longest continuous trails.
This is great to hear. I drove myself crazy trying to find a map a few months back.
