I Street jumps in danger & your chance to have your voice heard

In recent months, the I Street dirt jumps, a freeride mountain biker's staple for close, accessible, and high quality jumps and freeride terrain in Salt Lake, have been in danger of demolition. Opponents to the jumps claim negative impact on surrounding neighborhoods, wildlife, and the watershed.

After a cleanup involving WAFTA volunteers and others from the community earlier this month, proponent have shown that they care about their jumps and will do what they can to keep them. Coming up this Friday, June 29th, is another opportunity for you to show your support, speak with City officials, and help everyone protect and preserve this important venue for many years to come.

Who >> You, your kids, your friends, your mom and everyone else who loves and rides I Street.

What >> A chance to meet with the City and have your voice heard. We're looking for all the support we can get to save I Street. Even if you can only swing by for a few minutes, every person that turns out brings us that much closer to protecting I Street.

When >> Friday, June 29th from 4 - 6 PM

Where >> At the I Street Jumps. Follow I Street up through the Avenues, it will eventually turn into 18th Ave. The parking area is just past the LDS church on the left.

Below, a film featuring I Street jumps and Utah's own Fezzari Bikes.
