  1. Zed, ride daily, sometimes training for racing tons just for commuting, volunteer at the collective daily. During riding I notice many cars who can cause human tissue damage to me or others and would like to post license plate numbers and photos of cars and or drivers where others can view these dangerous critters.

  2. Scott, are you looking for a place to post this sort of content, akin to something like one of these ideas? -

    http://www.platewire.com/
    http://web.archive.org/web/20070608001137/http://bikeportland.org/2005/08/09/wanted-your-close-calls/

I am thinking we could start an entire section dedicated to this content where multiple people can contribute. (maybe a post, with lead offs? akin to the bike portland page?)

Shoot some more of your thoughts off on me on the matter. I am definitely interested, but just need to get a good direction to take this.

  3. I like both formats. My thought was to inform riders to use their phone camera to take photos of license plates and or cars and post these to warn others. Using a new section like BikePortland would be great. Any direction on these is a start in the right direction.

  5. Didn't get a lot of feedback on close calls / list your stolen bike/find you stolen bike features, so i ousted them. I will reconsider if there is enough demand.

  6. Hey i myselft live in ogden. I was thinking since there is no general website for ogden bikers to gather that maybe you could post things in Ogden also. The community is quite large and we have critical mass and alleycats. I think it would be a plus for everyone if we posted for other biking communitys too.

  7. Connor, I think Ogden needs a voice for its own bike scene, however, I am willing to help. If you make a blog for Ogden, I will do a post on it and make a link to it on the main page from Saltcycle to it. Blogger.com offers free blogs. (which this is ran on.) This goes for anyone else interested in creating a bicycling community in Utah. You create a blog for your bike locals outside of SLC, but in Utah and I will link to it in a drop down menu.

  8. Connor,

http://bikeogden.blogspot.com/ is a good start. Why don't you post the schedule for Critical Mass on it - I suggest trying google calendar to do it.. if you need help setting it up, give a hollar.

  10. hey this is mike (rubicon) from skyline cycle. i've got maximum respect for the slc mob for coming up to party with us at the first ever ogden gold sprints. we had a turn out of just under 150! i hope everyone enjoyed the live music from the 'auto-pirates.' and my band, 'natural process'. i cant speak for the auto-pirates, but as for me and my band, we would be glad to rock the shit out of any bike event or bike community get together in the future. just drop me a line at 698-2285. id also like to thank who ever was taking and posting pics, we will have a bunch to post as well. i'll make sure to put some of ours up here. thanks again! the skyline crew will be seeing everyone at the next event!
