SLC Cranksgiving Recap 2008!

Cranksgiving was a total success, with 33 racers and a whole mess of food gathered for the hungered peeps of SLC. Here's a quick photojourney through the race, for more pictures click here!
Riders gathered and prepared for destruction. Cory, on the mini bike, rode all the way from the Gallivan to a single grocery store, bought a whole ton of groceries, and headed straight to the collective, only managing to crash once on the way. Good on 'im!
The first stop was the avenues Smiths. after mobbing Nicholas the Pharmacist for manifests the racers were free to go wherever else they pleased, all the other stops were down the hill.
Greg got nailed by a truck who was distracted by racers and didn't see him, moments before this picture was taken. He went flying, truck didn't stop. The truck was at fault.
It was Mr. Hartlieb's first day on a fixie, they finished building up the sweet ol' Paramount a couple minutes before the race and the brake wasn't even hooked up yet to boot. So what did we do? Sent him up the steepest hill in the city and hoped he made it down! Well done sir.
Patrick Beecroft of LMI (left) took the race and had an eight minute lead over the rest of the pack. Prescott (right) took second!
Jeff took third by buying a turkey, which allowed him to skip a stop. Sneaky bugger!
All told, we got a ton of food!
And a ton of turkeys.
Hope everyone had fun, thanks to everyone for racing, Jonathan Morrison for encouragement, Chris Ginzton for planning the race, and our hearts go out to the guy who broke his wrist at the beginning, get well soon!
